FYT’s professionally designed Educator's guides contain pre and post performance classroom activities and are aligned with state curriculum standards. Make sure your school is part of this unique educational opportunity.

MAX AND RUBY
March 6

Grades K-3
Max and Ruby–a little brother and a big sister–sometimes a team, sometimes not, but always up for new adventures, experiences and fun together. Learn about the responsibilities big sisters take on and understand a little brother’s point-of-view, too. This charming new musical brings two popular characters from literature and television to life on stage, plays with the imagination and finds joy in the love of a sibling.

FISH FACE
March 17 & 18

Grades 1-4
Emily Arrow can do plenty of things well when she has “Uni,” her toy unicorn, to bring her good luck. She’s one of the fastest runners around, she’s great at math, and she hardly ever gets into trouble. But when Dawn Bosco appears, everything changes. The new girl seems to be good at everything. She even beats Emily in a race. Worst of all, Emily discovers Dawn has stolen her unicorn! In her efforts to understand why Dawn stole from her, Emily learns a few things about honesty and growing up.

THE GIVER
April 9, 10, 16 & 17

Grades 5-8
Imagine a world in the far distant future where everyone is the same. There is no fear, no pain and no memory. And no one questions that it could be otherwise—ever. This is the only world young Jonas has ever known, but when he turns twelve, he learns he has the power to “see beyond” it. With the help of a wise man called The Giver, Jonas discovers he has the ability to challenge everything he has been told. But does he dare to confront the world about its forgotten humanity and run the risk of upsetting the balance of life as everyone knows it? Part science fiction, party mystery and part adventure, this compelling story became an instant classic for young people as well as adults.

CRANKED
April 17

Grades 7-12
Stan a.k.a. “definition” is a rising freestyle MC who lost it all because of his meth habit. He confronts his demons as he prepares for an upcoming competition without the “fix” that has dominated his life. Memories of the highs and the rush of music all collide as he struggles to recapture what he once had. This newly commissioned play will examine the rising epidemic of crystal meth use by teens. Using spoken word and hip-hop, this play offers a dramatic exploration of addiction and drug culture.
